My journey starts in Bombay where I was born and then spent most of my childhood and youth in Madras. I was born into a family of doctors and businesspeople. One of my grandfathers was a medic in World War II during which he was captured by the Japanese and escaped after spending two weeks in the jungles of Burma. My other grandfather was the managing director of Automobile Products of India, a leading auto manufacturer in the country.

I think the clarity of thought and the purity of vision in Jeff’s case was really around wanting to be the place where people went to buy anything. It was always that.

Culture comes down to the founders, CEO, whoever’s the one who’s driving the ship. And it comes down to not what they say but what they do.

My father was an entrepreneur which is no trivial task in India. Unlike the United States, entrepreneurs in India at the time had to put up all of the money for their company with no outside financing at all. Also, government regulations and bureaucracy made running an enterprise very tough. My mother was the central point of our lives and a very strong influence on me and my sister. As a trivial aside, she was a childhood playmate of Salman Rushdie, and is relieved she was not mentioned in “Midnight’s Children.”

SeventhSense maybe. I’m joking. Actually, I get bored after I invent something, because I hate talking about it every time.

From the beginning, I started working on the concept of merging the physical world and the digital world, like with my earlier project, Quickies, merging physical sticky notes with digital data.

I am refining my SixthSense technology. Now, it’s not infrared, but laser projection, because a laser is always in focus even on a curved or elliptical surface.

A laser can also be small as a button and, therefore, can be used in a cellphone later on.

We are still working on Tele Touch. This is the first time I showcased it in public.

We improved the design because we heard very good reviews from our customers that they really enjoyed the feel and design of S6. It's kind of DNA of design, and we found that key DNA. So we want to continue on that and we don't want to keep changing it every single time. To answer in one line, we are actually perfecting.

The inspiration came from our mythology and how people could change their form or see something miles ahead.

What made me work on this was: Why can I not open the door by not walking to it? Or, switch a lamp on or off by sitting on the couch or surf TV channels with my mobile. Each product has a built-in IP, which allows it to be identified.

Ethical hacking is all about hacking for a good purpose. It is about helping governments, intelligence agencies and corporates tackle espionage, crack on terrorist activities and prevent cyber criminals from misusing confidential data.
