My tryst with cricket happened when I was in Davangere. I’m very thankful to my coaches Prakash Pawar and LM Prakash Sir, and my parents who supported me throughout.

I am very happy with my performance. Commonwealth Games is an important event and winning a medal there means a lot to me. I will now look forward to Asian Games and then World Championship. For me, World Championship is very important and I will try to do best there

To be in a position where two of our players play against each other in the final of a big event like Commonwealth Games is something which we feel proud about

I have not been insulted. My village elders came and I stood up. What does a normal person do when they meet their elders? Do they keep sitting? If I sat in front of them on the ground, I did nothing wrong

Why do journalists go to any extent to create a sensational news? This I believe they do when they can’t get a story. Such type of wrong propaganda should be stopped

These medals have made me happy but I do not want to lose focus. I want to concentrate on my next event and the next tournament

The only point where I was nervous during the elimination round was when I hit those 8s. But I knew I could not afford to think too much about these shots and had to quickly get these off my mind

I am looking forward to these big events with hope. I would try and perform to the best of my ability and make a mark

Before shooting I was into boxing, thang ta - Manipuri martial art. I was playing those sports because I love bashing my opponents. I really enjoy it

Please don’t ask me to whom would I dedicate this medal!

Some people want to be left alone. I’m like that. Don’t mind, haan, but I don’t like social media also. And I don’t like to answer the same questions again and again.

I am extremely happy that I won a gold for India in my first World Cup

It is good thing to come here and play. The whole world is watching. I had a good domestic season too. I am happy the way things are going. I am improving as a player and also improving my skills

I thought we tried our level best but we couldn't execute the plans well. Someone like Russell when he starts to take on the bowlers it's difficult to contain him. We even tried bowling from round the wicket. We had different plans but it was difficult to execute the plans. Lot of balls we bowled into his radar

Gautam Gambhir

With all due respect to (Yuzvendra) Chahal, I am a big Rashid Khan fan. I have been a coach of the Afghanistan national team and I know how he is like off the ground.
