There have been over 100 constitutional amendments; one every year, and we still cannot say there won’t be need for more. This in itself is proof the Constitution does not fulfil today’s needs.

B.R. Ambedkar’s role was limited, so that whatever material B.N. Rau gave him, he would correct its language. It was like RAW or IB, where footsoldiers write reports in broken English and IPS officers turn it into good English, capable of being presented to the PM. So, Ambedkar did not write the Constitution.

Indira Gandhi, when she returned in 1980 (to power), whatever she thought, that is being pushed forth by this government. Punjab, J&K… when events took shape there, Indira Gandhi moved towards the politics of Hindutva. Not just that, the Ayodhya question was pushed by her, before Rajiv Gandhi. Read P V Narasimha Rao. So Indira Gandhi did other things in 1971, but the 1980s Indira Gandhi was a completely changed person and that is why the Golden Temple case (Operation Blue Star) happened and terror flourished in J&K

But there is some dispute, as to who actually dismantled the old temple. Many said Babar did it, but retired Bihar IPS officer Kishore Kunal, in his recent book, named Aurangzeb as the real culprit

I was an anti-Muslim bigot. Maybe even an unconscious racist. I thought I had made this clear in a number of published opinion editorials and interviews. Evidently, however, this is news to New Atheists who believe this new "discovery" of tweets i made in 2009 somehow nullifies my criticism of the New Atheist movement.

CJ Werleman

You see, New Atheists aren't upset I was an anti-Muslim bigot, probable racist, in 2009. They're upset that I'm not that now.

The United States is the world’s greatest producer of carbon emissions. Should Trump break his country’s promise to cut greenhouse gases, he will go down as the world’s greatest single sponsor of global terrorism.

Others have predicted that these undercurrents and climatic trends have the potential to bring down large-scale states such as India and Pakistan.

Rapid and sudden urbanisation produces new or exacerbated social and political contestations.

We’ve learned much about radicalisation to violent extremism in the past 15 years. These have been lessons hard earned. Many have risked their lives; a few have even sacrificed theirs in pursuit of understanding this 21st century threat.

CJ Werleman

Worse, policies that fixate on Muslims as the referent object to be securitised only serve to create more of the very thing you’re trying to fight: violent radicalisation.

Trump’s silence on rising hate crimes against Muslim Americans is deafening.

CJ Werleman

Regardless of the issue, you just can’t shut Donald Trump up. Lord knows, his three campaign managers and current and former White House chief of staff have nearly died trying.

CJ Werleman

This is not the first and only time Trump has neither offered support for Muslim victims, nor condemnation for their attackers.

ike most who may read the following lines, I have closely followed events after the brutal assassination of Gauri Lankesh. The only thing that seems clear to me is that it is a mafia-like job, carried out with cold precision in the heart of a city. Two people come on a motorbike to kill the person and two more follow on another bike to make sure the job is complete. It happens, just like this, in southern Italy even today. There are no eye witnesses. Never.
