We did the presser because of anguish…we didn't have any other option

Jasti Chelameswar

You can't avoid criticism if you are a public servant…But I don't have qualms about going public with my views concerning judiciary

Jasti Chelameswar

Striking down of National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC), in my opinion, was not right

I do not understand why people are obsessed about impeachment. Impeachment cannot be solution of every problem.

What compelled us to make letter (to CJI Dipak Misra) public is that in spite of our best efforts, we couldn't achieve right solution. My retirement is 22nd June. After that, I won't seek any employment under any govt. What else would be my interest in this

We will go to each Lok Sabha constituency to tell people the truth about this government. We will do all we can to make sure they don't come back to power again

I have no faith in investigating machinery (on Judge Loya's death)

I feel there are strong circumstances to demand an independent detailed inquiry in the matter (on Judge Loya's death)

This will restore public faith in the constitutional authorities and a message has gone now that politicians doing illegal acts won't be spared

First of all, the Delhi HC has no locus as the EC has only answered a reference to the President. Do the MLA's want HC to stay such a communication? The problem is AAP doesn't believe in any Constitution, high court or Supreme Court. If the President disqualifies them, they will abuse him also.

I am very happy that my struggle has paid off. When the appointments were made in March, I felt that something was not right. I read up on the issue and also checked its constitutional validity. After much research, I found the move was unconstitutional and filed a petition with the Presidents’ secretariat

Initially, it was pending in the office in the first few months. I had to file multiple RTIs (right to information petitions), letters to the President’s secretariat. I didn’t think the matter will become this big. I am happy that the time I have spent on this has paid off

Prashant P. Umrao (Lawyer)

I did not file this petition because I am a part of any political party. I sent it as a layman. For someone interested in politics, in a city like Delhi, it is impossible to avoid it. I realised something was amiss. After doing research, I found the move to be unconstitutional and filed a plea with the President’s secretariat

Prashant P. Umrao (Lawyer)

I am a layman; that’s how I have filed the case. These allegations are not new but the matter here is a legal one that has today been upheld…. I am a practicing advocate and I will continue with my work.

We need to protect the Constitution from BJP and if we don’t awaken the masses for bringing them down in 2019, I truly believe we will be doomed.
