I could not afford to have any other career goal. My life would have been absolutely futile had I not made it into the civil services

Govind Jaiswal (IAS Officer)

You must understand that my circumstances were such that besides the Civil Services, I had no option. I didn't have much of a chance with lower government jobs because they are mostly fixed, neither could I start a business because I had no money. The only thing I could do was work hard at my studies.

This service is so amazing in nature that you will be matured as you go about. You have to deal with public, the best management practices in the world you will get to learn in IAS. From the very start you have to tackle lakhs of people.

I think every generation has more exposure compared to its previous one as it is required to tackle situation in present technological regime. We have to trust UPSC, their knowledge in the game of selection.

This is a malicious and motivated propaganda to destroy my credibility. I have so far submitted extensive evidences in the form of nine affidavits running into 660 pages against the planners and executioners of anti-minority genocide in 2002 for delaying, subverting and derailing the criminal justice system.

Nambi Narayanan was involved in so many corruption cases earlier. I don’t know why he is targeting me. After all I was a part of the IB team and we don’t have any authority, under the CrPc, to investigate, prosecute or register any cases. So how could I fix him in a false case?

Most of the 96 people killed in the evening in Naroda Patiya were reportedly from this group of Muslims who were denied asylum in SRPF campus. No action was initiated for defying written order of ADGP (AU) and no report was made.

R. B. Sreekumar (Former Gujarat State Director-General of Police)

The State Government later claimed that 500 Muslims were saved by permitting them to stay in SRPF campus. Afterwards, I came to know that the Commandant had refused, ignoring my written orders, entry of refuge seekers in empty SRPF barracks and consequently, they had become victims of riots at the hands of marauding brigands.

If you tell the commission anything against the State government, you will not get your promotion.

When I took over, I called the papers from the communal riot branch, there was no reports incriminating against the Sangh Parivar, role of Sangh Parivar, etc. Where as on files, from the fields, we had received reports about the role of these people in planning and execution of riots.

There were so many illegal orders were coming in most of the review meetings. It was a very very funny situation. In which review meeting is held by the Chief Secretary, first DGP then Additional Chief Secretary, Chief secretary and CM or some one else then there will be discussions. No minutes will be kept, no instructions will be recorded and mostly illegal instructions were given.

It’s heartening that more officers are showing the courage to speak out. The victimisation of these officers by the state government will certainly demoralise civil servants. That’s why the central government ought to intervene as it’s the guardian of the all India service officers and implementer of the all India service rules.

I was additional DGP (intelligence) of Gujarat from April to September 2002. I’d been reporting the sangh parivar’s and Modi government’s role in that carnage. My reports to the government were submitted in four affidavits of 600 pages whilst i was still in service. Later, i submitted two more affidavits. I did so in keeping with my duty as a civil servant and my oath to uphold the Constitution of India.

Problem in Chhattisgarh is not Naxalism. It is the administration.

Kanwar Pal Singh Gill (KPS Gill)

Even in Punjab the consensus lasted a short while, and then we got Beant Singh as CM who had a focus. In Chhattisgarh, the dg can’t transfer a constable.
